GINKGO BILOBA TREE
The logo created makes an abstract representation of the services and values of the company through the leaf of the Ginkgo Biloba tree. This tree, of Chinese origin, is considered a living fossil due to its longevity. It also bring peace and hope since it was the only tree surviving the atomic explosions in Japan.
LEAF
The leaves of this tree have often been used to combat free radicals and as an aid to brain oxygenation, as well as memory, attention, and vertigo enhancers.
CROSS
The leaf was drawn with its beginning adjusted to a vertex and two edges that form an angle of 90 degrees. Thus, by combining 4 leaves we obtain a shape showing a cross in its negative space. The cross symbolizes the Divine Holy Christ - the Christian religion. The cross can take many meanings, but in the Christian religion, it tends to convey the resurrection and the hope of eternal life. It is also viewed as the center where everything converges, the Tree of life.
PLUS
The "plus" symbol can also be seen in the place of the cross, which conveys the addition of something - more care, more health, more comfort, more energy, more love, more security, more unity, more life... - which can result in various slogans to promote the Association.

A more simplified version of the logo (with just one leaf) was created to be used mainly, being the most readable one. The secondary version is reserved for bigger sizes and can also result in interesting patterns.
Award
Design National Association of Portugal (AND) made the second version of the AND Design Awards in 2019, with 3 categories:  Communication Design, Physical Product Design, and Interior Design.
Lar Santo Cristo Nave won 1st place in the category of Communication Design.
